Coleman is a native of Blackpool Lancashire. She attended Arnold School Blackpool, where she scored straight A's for the A-levels she took. When Coleman was asked about her role in Emmerdale she replied that she regrets not to have had a traditional university experience. While at school Coleman was a member of a theater company named In Yer Space with whom she was a part of the Edinburgh Festival in the play Crystal Clear. The show was awarded a prize to her for her performance, while the play received an enthusiastic reception. Coleman, who was auditioning to join drama colleges in 2005, got Jasmine Thomas' role in Emmerdale. Coleman was nominated twice in 2007. In 2007, the British Soap Awards nominated her as the best newcomer. At the National Television Awards, she was nominated as the as the most popular newcomer. At the 2009 British Soap Awards she was awarded for the Best Actress Sexiest Female and the Best Dramatic Performance category. Coleman received a TV Choice Award nomination for Best Actress. Steven Moffat announced at a Doctor Who press conference on 21 March that Coleman was the replacement for Karen Gillan as the companion of the Doctor following Arthur Darvill left the series, would be playing the role alongside Matt Smith. Moffat selected her for the part because she was the most successful when working with Smith and was able to speak faster than him. Eva Larue..............................Eva LaRue is an American actor and model. Elle has been in the field of film since 1987. However she has had a greater presence on television than in films. Eva has appeared in a number of television characters, however Dr. Maria Santos from All My Children as well as Detective Natalia Boavistas from CSI Miami have stood out. The role of Dr. Maria Santos in All My Children landed the actress the two Daytime Emmy nominations. This provided her with the opportunity to show off her musical talent. Eva isn't just an actress, she is as well a philanthropist and businesswoman. Eva has three husbands, and an infant from the third.
